in ERP, integration and digital transformation
led end to end
across his career
including retail, consumer and public sector, PE-backed and family-owned businesses alike
Ian started at Oracle, then spent years inside Deloitte and KPMG learning how the best-run transformation programmes actually work, and, just as usefully, how the badly-run ones fall apart. From there, three decades of ERP and digital transformation work followed, across retail, consumer goods and the public sector, for businesses ranging from scaling founder-led brands to major PE-backed portfolios.
His work has included Primark/ABF, Ocado, Trinny London, ALDO, Gym+Coffee, Lulu Guinness, John Lewis Partnership, Deliveroo, and the UK Ministry of Defence.
After three decades on the inside of other people's transformation programmes, and other people's platforms, Ian started Saturn Frontier around a simple observation: the businesses that got the most value from technology weren't the ones with the biggest budgets or the newest tools. They were the ones with someone in the room who'd actually seen enough of it go right, and go wrong, to tell the difference early.
That's the job now: not building the platform, just being that person in the room.
Outside the work, Ian's based in London, and when he's not untangling someone else's ERP mess he's usually out on a long walk with the family dog.
